When I read this morning's ST, I was utterly shocked and sadden by the behavior of this doc.:thumbsd::nono:

As a doc, what was her original pledge in her profession as a doc towards her patient.

Just wondering why she need or rather want that obscene amount of money. After getting her GC bungalow, exotic car and so forth, what else would she need. She knows jolly well that she will never bring any money to her next life.

G R E E D ! :dunno:

Why not read the whole story in the paper.

Seems the patient was very demanding also. Even when Dr. Lim had eye surgery she had to attend this patient, at the risk of losing her vision.

Seems SMC also changed the rules, and wont release information and seems the judge also agrees something is funny here.

So who knows what the full extent to this story is.

Lets see what the courts say and the whole story comes out.

Cheers ....

I am shocked too !

The patient maybe very demanding but that does not give the doctor the right to overcharge to the extend of 526% ! ! !

That is plain GREEDY and blatant disregard to ethical behavior !

How else can you explain a $400 cost amount become a billed amount of $210K ? !
IT IS SHOCKINGLY GREEDY ! ! !

She must be punished as a deterrent case to all other doctors.

:angry::thumbsd::angry::thumbsd:

This is like going to a photography shop and they charge you $10000 for a compact camera.
Sure you can demand delivery service and even personalized explanation of the manual.
Do you think something should be done??.

You cannot compare a product to healthcare service. Maybe photography service is more appropriate.

Well, money is never enough, isn't it? if nothing else, the satisfaction of watching the bank account ballooning every day is a reward in itself. :)

$24 mil was just for one year IIRC.

she charged her patient $450k for one day b4.

All these revelations by the reporters have destroyed this woman's standing in the society, both as a citizen, a friend, a professional or simply a human being.
Notice how she has betrayed so many professional friends, who offered very reasonable prices to her client, and she marked up so indecently. Worse are those friends who offered FREE services to her and she betrayed their trusts by charging her client when these friends are giving free services to her! Imagine, you help your friend to shoot an event for free and he charges the organisers $100,000 :bsmilie: and you DIDN'T know anything about it!

She has also given a poor image to the medical as well as other professions (accounting, legal, etc..), and given a very poor image to the people, not only locally but to the whole world.

IMHO, she has to redeem herself now .... maybe give a really BIG donation (like $24millions?) or work for the next 10 years at those free clinics for the poor. But it would be a big waste if she migrates, because she is really a big talent, very good in her skills.

Good luck to her!

yeah....my bad.

that works out to $4,761.90 per hour, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, for the 7 months.

my bad for claiming many years first LOL.

what she earns in a day... LOL is like... what people earn in 3 years

since i do not have the full story, its very hard to be objective ... n considering how our p8p papers leeport news... lots of hidden story one...

IMO, she is providing a service... how much more to cover for her service, i would guess it is be really up to her...

for those that say she charges a lot...

let say, you have become a very famous photographer....
damn, u even shoot with P&S compact camera and pictures came out fantastic...

u decide to charge the client 200k for your work... then the whole photographic community came down and say you charge too high and u should only charge the max of xx....

how do you put a price on service...
