Maintenance Notice - 26 February 2011

Hi all,

We will be attempting another forums software upgrade (after the previous unsuccessful attempt in November) this weekend thus the Forums and Gallery will be closed from 5am on Saturday, 26th February 2011 till when then upgrades are done and we are satisfied that the major functions are working correctly.

We anticipate the upgrade to take at least 8-10 hours (based on test runs and on the current size of the database), however we are unable to give an exact estimate as there may be roadbumps.

We will post regular updates on our Facebook page as well as on Twitter to keep everyone informed on the status.

Apologies in advance for any inconvenience caused and we look forward to presenting a fresh new look to our members when the upgrade is completed.

Bugs with the new software:

- "Go to first new post" link DOESN'T WORK! It open the thread, but it just stays stuck to the to the first post...there's no jumping down to the first unread post.

- "Go to first new post" icon is too small, and hard to click...especially next to the giant envelope icons which should be replace with more reasonably sized ones.

- "Reply to Thread" links only open up the quick reply, rather than going to the "Advanced" reply screen like it did before. It's nice when it functions differently than the "Quick Reply" links found at the bottom of each reply in the thread...if I wanted the Quick Reply window to open I would have clicked one of those instead!

- The old "Quick Reply" and "Multi-Quote" icons were easier to understand for a newbie. As well you should replace the "Report Post" icon with one that's in colour for the same reason.

p.s. You need a thread where people can post bugs and issues with the updated software so everything is in one place.
