So i got bored at work, wiki-ed "point-and-shoot" and naturally stuff about compact cameras differences to D/SLR's etc etc came up. But i realised it didnt mention the origin of the phrase.

So im thinking:
Arn't all cameras(stuff that captures still and/or moving images) = point and shoot?

E.g. A Video Cam. I point in the direction, aim in the viewfinder, and shoot by pressing the record button. Point and shoot.

Let's put this in another perspective: A revolver, A rifle, A cannon, A howitzer = Gun

What are your thoughts?

If you manage to point and shoot everyone who can make you go into DB then how? :bsmilie:

Of course, not suggesting that anyone should even try that. They will never succeed.
