I dont know is it normal or someproblem with the K7 or lens, (but i think is user problem problem:embrass:) the purpose of this thread is to get the confirmation so i can RMA the parts before warranty ended this march.

Maybe u had bump up the iso too high like 1600 and above.it will introduce some noise to your picture.

your picture just looks underexpo (without flash photo)

(flash and children photo) looks like the white balance is off

maybe u post the exif data for further analsyis

ISO only 800 :(

updated in first post thanks:)

The main problem here seems to be underexposure. Pic 1 no need to say, in pic 2 the light fall-off from the flash is obvious, and pic 3 is generally underexposed. Noise tends to be most prominent in dark or shadow areas of a photo, and underexposure makes it worse. ISO800 should produce pretty acceptable pics on the K-7, but that may not be so if you don't get the right exposure.

Then again, everybody has a different level of tolerance to noise, and it always helps to shoot in raw and use noise reduction software if you're bothered by it.

All pictures are too much underexposed. K7 can produce good results at iso800 if the photo is exposed properly. Try to add some EV and use average metering instead of spot metering when shooting group photos like these. When shooting indoor photos like these, since the light condition doesn't change, you also can try to use manual mode and adjust aperture/speed yourself instead of letting the camera do everything for you.

I guess we all agreed picture is underexpose, so it could be a techiqune problem.

while i was looking at your exif. iIwas wondering whats could have cause the underexpose problem. i suspect it could be the spot metering you using.

The first picture because flash is not on. so it is underexpose.

2 and 3rd picture flash is on. but flash "power" seems not enough. perhaps you had meter at the slightly brighter spot causing the pttl to go off.

perhaps you try using center weighted or full metering?

It seems that you were taking a picture at ISO 800, f4.5 1/50s.

Are you using the kit lens? It could be that your scene was simply too dark, and that the camera is unable to get the correct exposure due to the limitations it is facing.

ISO - fixed at 800
f4.5 - Already at max aperture due to kit lens.
1/50s - At slowest "safe" shutter speed as decided by the camera.

Hi, if same sceney happen again. what would your suggestion to remedy this situation or what setting to apply if use manual mode.

thanks.
:)

Thks for all the comments, i go and try tonight.. :)

It doesn't really matter what kind of scenario you are facing, or metering mode you are using, just make sure you get the exposure right. Any shooting mode would be able to get proper exposure, it all depends on the scene and your own preference. Manual mode is sometimes easier when the light condition doesn't change much (indoor or even outdoor street photos). There isn't much settings you need to do when you use manual mode, all you need to do is to set the aperture/speed combo as you wish to get proper exposure and DOF.

I'd suggest you turn on the histogram and learn how to read it (just do a web search on it).
It will let you know how much to adjust your exposure upon review of your first photo.
When lighting conditions don't change much, you can use Manual exposure and keep the settings as you have adjusted accordingly. If it changes somewhat, just use any of the auto exposure modes and keep in the compensation. Reviewing your shots every now and then and adjusting will help.
