When do you know its time to upgrade your camera?

When my current camera malfunctioned/spoilt . . . :)

Or when i strike Toto tonight . . . :bsmilie:

when i feel that it's the camera and not my skills that is limiting me in taking good images. and that's still a long way to go, i think. ;) right now i'd rather focus on improving my skills (which sucks) rather than keep on chasing new gear.

same here.. also, agree with weegk..

so bottom line: when it malfunctions, when it is the limiting factor (which i guess will not be the case in near future..) or both case..

Yea man, Really hope that i strike to-to tonight.
I had my pentax K-x with me for about 2 years now and I think I have reach the end of the road with the camera.
Its really a good Dslr for a beginner but I was thinking should I be changing it now?

Can you describe the 'end of the road'? Which features / functions do you need that the camera doesn't have? Where does the camera limits you?
Looking at many great pictures taken with even older cameras I have my doubts, suspecting that many guys just get itchy fingers over new models. At least marketing seem to be successful :bsmilie:

When my camera is beyond economical repair and around seven thousand dollars to spare to get full frame camera with lens and settle down for at least two years before getting another one.

Whenever I have the budget, life is short so make yourself happy .... ;)

When a new model is released :)

Sorry if I may sound shallow... But I am more a gearhead :) no pretenses

Its very hard to push the limits, especially Kx being a rather good model of camera. If you can still take great pictures with a 30D, would taking steps up to say a 50D necessarily make your photos better? Would people go "wah u change camera ah, can see the difference in standard wor"?

Honestly, when u have loads of money and felt like there's no place to spend it, u upgrade. And i believe u won't be asking this qns when the above scenario fits yours now. haha.

The answer to this question differs from person to person. Nevertheless, it eventually comes down to BUDGET.

With the new Budget announced, now's a good time!
