Thanks.

I would have preferred the borders to be solid colors rather than translucent. I find it rather distracting... Just my personal preference I guess.

Also, I'm not sure if the picture will look better if the top right hand corner of the subject is not cut off.

Personally, I dun like to have main subject's cut off
#7 - The lady seems abit soft to me (soft focus I mean.)...
#10 - bottom is cut off....
#11 - Too much details in 1 frame, I find it quite messy
#12 - My eyes is attracted to the bottom 1/5 of the frame due to the yellow color....

Please take no offence..Just $0.02 from a newbie.

Dont post so many. Hard to give comments when there too many photos . Overall if you are a newbie..its ok. Just keep shooting and readup on the internet and you will get better. But on the technical side you need to work on the following things in the following order

1. How to get good focusing
2. Knowing what is the min shutter speed for a given situation
3. How to get the desired DOF through apeture setting and zooming
4. What ISO to use in low light so that noise is within your own acceptable limit
5. Balance between 2-4 in tricky lighting.

I find your pics being oversaturated and too much contrast. While colours and contrast are a matter of preference, I think it is better to use more netural or natural color setting and the get the desire effect through PP.

Once you get the technical stuff out of the way...then lear about composition which are think should be in the following importance

1. Get the background right
2. Rule of thirds
3. Filling the frame
4. Creating depth
5. Using diagonals
6. Repeated patterns
7. Others

A general comment, I think viewing 1-17, i get a feeling that, for what you are trying to do, u need either an interesting subject, or if indeed abstract, i'd prefer something striking, out of the ordinary or thought provoking. Some of the shots, seem more like you capture bit-parts of some common daily objects to pass off as (i presume, correct me if i'm wrong) "abstracts". Being random is one thing, but within randomness, i still would like to see some thoughts going into the shots, otherwise your randomness is point-and-shoot at best.

Hi:thumbsup:eek:oh, me too, have one of this:)
