Hi,

Just got a D3100 body only.

Notice that for my Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 HSM,
it cannot AF when in Live View.

For my Sigma 50-150mm F2.8,
it can AF both in normal and Live View.

The manual did not have much info on this aspect.
Anyone encounter similar limitations ?

maybe it's that lens compatibility issue on newer cameras

If your lens can AF when shooting normally (ie using VF), it puzzles me how come AF doesn't work in live view.
I don't have that lens or body, so I can't verify.
Interested to see if someone can shed some light on this.

No issues with my 3rd party lens (screw-driven AF) on my cam in live view.

its e lens AF compatibility in live view.. my tamron 17-50 also cannot AF in liveview, whilst my sigma 70-200 f2.8 II can..

I also suspect its the lens compatibiliy issue.
Looks like i'm not alone.

My D3100's AF doesn't work with my sigma 50-150 (version I). Compatibility issues I guess.
