How to insert chinese words using Lightroom 3?

Hi everyone

I would like to use chinese characters and insert into the photos. Im currently using lightroom 3 to do pp. Is it possible to put chinese words on the photos?

My purpose is to describe the photo using chinese characters. Any information is greatly appreciated!

u need to install the chinese font first if i am not mistaken. because for CS4, that is how. So i assume it is the same for lightroom.

Yes, you need to install Chinese fonts in your operating system first. This will not only allow you to view them, but also create a way to input them, eg. using HanYuPinYin. Another other additional fanciful Chinese fonts can then be added for use in Lightroom.

In addition to installing Chinese fonts into your computer, I believe you also need to buy and install
a input device connected via USB port to write Chinese characters.
I'm using mini Penpower system (from Taiwan). Its sold by Longrand Electronics Tel:63420566.
Of course, there are various other brands. You can see them demonstrating at PC shows and at SLS.

Don't think so you need to, as you can use HanYuPinYin as the input.

I use the Chinese character writing input system. I have not use other systems. Can you enlighten
me on how the HanYuPinYin input system is used. Do you need to install a software in addition to
downloading Chinese fonts from websites? I am using Windows XP Home Edition on my Desk top
and Vista on my notebook.

1. Go to "Control". Selects "Regional & Language Option.
2. Go to "Keyboard and Language", Select "Change Keyboard".
3. Click on the "Add" key to add additional language. In this case, Chinese Simplified (PRC).
4. You may ask to insert the system Disk.

Once you are in any of the editing program, select "Chinese Simplied (PRC)". (See the red arrow). Select the input style and there you go.

however this is a default font. If you want other types of Chinese font, you will need to install it first.

Thanks for the info! The pictures totally help. I managed to input chinese words using lightroom
Time to go download other types of chinese fonts to try out
