Hi guys, I have a silly question to ask.

Must film be developed? Are there films that can be scanned directly?

So typically, one would have to bring the films to a photo lab to have them develop the film for you, even if you want to do the scanning yourself?

Thanks for the help!

Wikipedia can give you all the chemical details about film. It needs to be processed, unless we talk about Polaroid and similar systems.

You can also develop films at home. Please have a look into "Traditional Darkroom" and read, read, read ...

Yes. No.

Yes and no. Photo labs have process, print and scan services. Alternatively, you can develop / scan the film yourself. http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45612
