Hi, guys.. I'm John from Medan, Indonesia. Plan to visit Singapore on this Saturday. Any idea for good spot there? Or anybody please to accompany? :)) Thanks

1. Take the mrt to Raffles Place at 6am and walk towards the Promontory (Near the Sail), there your misadventure starts.

2. Shoot sunrise from the Promontory till 7am (aim towards the Singapore Flyer, Ferris Wheel) with the Marina Bay Sands as the background.

3. Walk to the Marina Bay Sands and shoot the reflection of the sun rays on the CBD area (pano is also nice), eg Maybank and Fullerton Hotel.

4. Shoot abstract shoots of the Helix Bridge but try not to use long exposure as the bridge suffers from vibration generated by human traffic.

5. Walk over to the Singapore Flyer for $29.50 before 10am and take a 30min ride, taking in the full view of the city.

6. Walk towards the Esplanade and drink in the culture especially when there is free musical related events on weekend late afternoon and evening. Note down the timings before heading elsewhere.

7. Pop over to the National Museum of Singapore near Dhoby Ghaut mrt before 11.30am for a free guided tour (Pompeii: Life in a Roman Town 79CE).

8. Take a bus ride Bus 64, 65, 131, 139, 147, 857 near Plaza Singapore and head towards The Verge (aka Tekka Mall) for Little India.

9. Walk around Little India for some candid/street photography and be surrounded by the colors of the rainbow since they have just celebrated Thaipusam this thursday.

10. Tryout the bryani there for your late lunch before taking a mrt ride from Farrer Park mrt to Chinatown mrt.

11. Walk around Chinatown for some candid/street photography until night falls to capture some of the night lights generated by the lanterns and Chinese New Year decorations.

12. Walk back over to Esplanade for some music by Da Fam Showcase from 8.45 to 9.30pm.

Anything more might be too much for you since I do not know how well you are used to walking around the city.
I will leave the nature parks to the rest of the CSers, eg. Botanic Garden. ;)

Wow.. It's a really nice guidance :) Thanks, loneWollf

Mmh.. Maybe I don't have so much time there. Arrive on Sat around noon and back to Batam on Sunday after sunrise. Hope I can get some nice shot there with some of your guidance. This is the 2nd time to Spore.. :)

Anyway, thank you very much..

No worries man, of course you can change the Singapore Flyer ride to night time to enjoy the night lights.

I found this to be very good, even for a newbie (Singaporean) like me. I really don't know where to get a good shot around Singapore. :bsmilie:

Thanks.

There is a MRT station that stops at that location. If you are taking the train, depending on which line you are taking. If you are taking the East-West Line, you would need to transfer to Circle Line train from Paya Lebar.

Where would you be staying>?

Sorry, maybe i do not ask my question clearly. ;) What i would like to know if "Promontory" is a place name in Singapore? I am from AMK. But not so familiar with the places in Singapore. :)

I am planning to shot sunrise from there on Sunday morning. Anyone joining? ;)

Dear Weisiong,
Please checkout the outing thread from Jacob under SunChasers 4th Dec @ Promontory.
Jacob has included a detail map of the location with the expected light ray directions that you have requested.
In the worse case, try streetdirectory.com.

Hi loneWolff & skylover,

Thanks for your reply. :D. I will check it out.

jhenry2276, 1st welcome to Singapore. If you like to take photo of birds, Singapore bird park is a great location. Otherwise, maybe the HDB hubs would be interesting for you.

Thanks alot for all of your reply. It would be interesting foe me to get some nice pic there :) Thanks..
