Guys
Im in Singapore right now from overseas.
I have a problem to connect to free wifi, whenever I go to wifi spot, my iphone shows that it has a wifi signal. But when Im trying to go online, usually it doesnt work.
The way I do this is going to general>wifi then choose the network available and thats it.
Is there anything I did wrong ?
But I was able to connect to wifi at friend's home with password.
TIA Guys.

Ok
That means i need to have a phone number, but im a tourist and dont have it.
Any other way ?
Thanks

I thought u just need to connect to wireless@sg at your wifi, create a username, password will be sent to you. whenever you are in "hotspots" with wireless@sg, u can login to free internet access by keying in the username and password at login page.

You need a cellphone number to receive the confirmation code. He has none.

TS: Go to any 7-11 and just get a prepaid SIM or Data dongle.

I tried that, registered and all that.
But when Im in the wifi spot, put in the username and password, still cant connect.
Also cant put in just any chip since mine is US AT&T phone, need to be unlocked as far as I know.
I'll try again tomorrow, can I use someone else's phone number ? I think its just where to send the password.
(I was using friend's cellphone number here).
Thanks.

There are PAID solutions which are instantly available, such as buying the SIM / Dongle at any 7-11 as mentioned.

You don't have free internet in USA for us when we visit either, so spend a little and help our economy mate!

Hi Pete
Cant do that either, SIM cant be put in my cell phone since it is locked, dongle also not viable since i dont have laptop/netbook, etc.
I really dont mind paying if I can use any of those.
BTW today I was able to connect, and will leave Singapore in 2 days, so Im good for now.
Thanks for all the help.
