Hoping to seek some comments to improve.

1. in what area is critique to be sought?
Should I have changed anything during shooting to make anything better?
2. what one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?
Depicting the old and new buildings in Singapore fully integrated to look nice together
3. under what circumstance is the picture taken? (physical conditions/emotions)
Sunny day, happily taking photos while walking the streets of Singapore
4. what the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture
I just feel that something is still lacking in this photo to further bring out my point. I took alot of old building photos during this "walk" from Cecil Street to Eu Tong Sen. The other photos are mainly portrait photos of buildings that looks pretty good to me.

Really hope to get some comments on this photo so that I know how to improve next time. :)

I know there are cars will distract the composition , but you can go midnight and get the full scope of the building structure .

It will be perfect if we can see the whole structure .

i truely agree that it will be much better without the cars.. however.. i took this photo while i was on a random trip to take some "life" photos.. i'll plan for one during the night..

Thanks alot for the comments! I'll try to improve more...

u could have wait for fewer or no cars. from the photos, it seems like the timing dun have so much vehicles.

haha.. i was standing in the middle of the road during red light.. haha.. it's during lunch hours on a office working day.. :) Plenty of cars.. zzz.. i waited for 3 traffic lights before there is less cars..

provided that there r no cars in this picture, crop off the left a little bit to remove the hdb away.

my suggestion:

maybe if u move back n include the road, shoot this during the "golden hour" n do long exposures, the car lights will look like streaks of light in ur photo. feel it will be nicer this way, but that's juz me n im still a newbie ;p

I think the framing is too tight. Cropping away the base of the buildings pillars here gives viewers a neither here nor there kinda feel. I would have preferred the TS to show some of the traffic/road in the foreground. Exposure wise i think is pretty ok since TS managed to capture all details on the building without totally blowing the sky. Might want to consider PPing away the cable line hanging from the lamp post to the left of the frame. From what I see, i think the shot would work if it was cropped in a square format where the blue lorry on the left is excluded and more of the road on the foreground is included. Keep shooting! :)

i would have wanted to stand a little further back to capture more but behind me are other cars! haha.. i was standing in the middle of the road.. nonetheless.. point noted and thanks! :)

Night time may not be ideal in terms of lighting. Sun early morning will be a good time. Right before and right after the sun rises.

as everyone has mentioned. You have "cut off" the base of the building in this composition. It is like taking photo of a person cutting off his feet. These are the 2 ways that I will probably try. Either frame it such that only the second storey and above or frame it with the whole building top to bottom in view and maybe with a bit more breathing space. For the second framing, I will wait for a break in the traffic to have a clear shot.

Other details that I suggest to take care of are the blown highlights in the sky, tilting verticals like the building and the bit of building peeking out on the left.

the lamp post shouldnt be there, but there's nothing much u can really do about it, oh well :\
