first few shot on dslr.

1.in what area is critique to be sought?
i would like feedback on the composition, sharpness and exposure.

2.what one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?
i want to have more emphasise of the tiny flower of all the twigs.

3.under what circumstance is the picture taken? (physical conditions/emotions)
This picture was taken because i noticed the flower stands alone there with all the leaves having fallen which made it stand out.

4.what the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture
I find it interesting as the leaves have fallen except this tiny flower.

thanks for all the comments and viewing.

IMO, I find the flower (left) is soft and color is dull. The photo is also under-expose, too much distraction and looks messy.
Perhaps if you can consider looking at another perspective, remove some of those unnescessary distraction and take the photo again.

noted. can try improve on thAt ;p

The railing and the pink background is very 'strong', and makes it hard to find your subject (flower).
I would strongly suggest a re-shoot to try and remove those distracting elements :)

can't help but kept saying I second what zca said.

For this case, you might consider a commonly used term. "less is more"
Do google for "photography less is more" and you will "see" clearly what I am trying to say.

my 2c,

u may wan to move the flower pot with the flower near towards u, then frame it with 1/3 rule with the flower petals opening towards u and u lower to take a more upward kind of angle. the dof is not working at your pic, become too messy

having done that u reduce the element behind such as railing etc

then adjust the contrast abit u shld have a nicer pic.
