Hey guys, recently I sold away my D70S ELP and well I decided to join the NEX5 Full Spectrum Band wagon. I really love the NEX5 for IR now. First time ever using full spectrum and it's a real joy and amazement. Bought adaptor rings from 49mm to 52mm and now I am able to mount Hoya R72, IR950, B+W Yellow Filter and B+W 486.

Thanks to Chiif Camera shop for having the B+W 486 in stock and he was pretty surprised that a non RF user came to buy the filter :p Normally M8 users would be using this UV-IR cut filter, I can only dream to own an M8.

Anyway the camera with different filters really is so cool and different. All shots were taken via jpeg. Lazy to convert it from ARW.

My main decision to buy the camera from Spencer's Camera is after seing through bro's TimeMachine test shots and this guys blog..http://infraredatelier.wordpress.com/

#1 - R72 (CWB) + No Colour Swap. Just using Auto levels and Nik.

Hi livideyez, nice contrast. beautiful.
Did you use a mod NEX-5 or just with the R72 filter on a normal NEX-5?
I'm thinking of getting my hands on an IR filter to try out IR.. ;p

heya,
I'm using a mod NEX-5. It's a full spectrum mod. I ordered it from overseas.
So I am able to attach any filters to it.
For the above shots I'm usng the hoya R72 and B+W yellow filter.
Hope the info helps you :)

yeah so I went out to shoot with the guys at Lower Pierce Reservoir today..was total happy with the outcome of the various filters used in line with the NEX5. Its a great little camera..

Check out the new shoots..

Very interesting IR effects, can you post the original photos for compare purpose.

Very good images, especially the B&W construction image. I do like the NEX-5 but the problem with it's white balance when it has been converted to full spectrum infrared really pissed me off. EVERY other camera conversion I have had (10 so far) has balanced perfectly!

Hey Mark thanks for dropping by. It's mainly because of your blog that I decided to go for a full spectrum infrared :)

Thanks! I put a lot of work and thought into the BLOG! How do you find your WB process with your camera? I have it in the back of my mind that perhaps it was the conversion itself that was causing the WB issues! (I really do like the NEX!)

Your pictures make me drool.
It's a pity that I'm too many steps away from IR photography.
Must graduate from noob photography first.

Take your time and enjoy yourself..
IR would always be here to stay. Same as photography..
Well maybe you can jsut buy a cheap IR filter for the time being first to use on your DSLR :)
That's a cheaper alternative..

some of the "colors" are too scary for me bro

hope ur D70s is in gd hands ;)
