hi all,

anyone has any ideas or suggestions on the places here that are run-down? primarily for shooting very dramatic or emo photos. there used to be old changi hospital..but it is now fenced up. any old buildings would be great.

thanks!

I dont know if this place is still available, used to be near my camp, at the ends or jalan bahar, the road to NTU, all the way straight pass the cemeteries. Used to have a coffeeshop, low rise housings but was left empty for many years already. (never go there for more than 10 yrs already.. dont know if it is still there.) Those who still goes to sungei gedong camp might know.

I can think of many old buildings like the city hall, parliament house, etc though not run down conditions.

try the tanjong pagar swimming pool. closed for almost 30 years i heard. but all locked up, so go across to the community centre acress the road to see if they have any idea on how to open up the gates. :)
personally, i think the place has that run down almost creepy feel.
only shot thru' the gates thou.

Maltida House in Punggol.

Maltida House in Punggol.
The one place that thus far, no property developer willing to work on. Not even foreign companies.

*If TS does go there, be sure to respect the "residents and brothers" there.

that would be neo tiew there right? one old housing estate that's been abandoned.

yup, neo tiew urban ops training ground. it's pretty inaccessible without a personal vehicle though. but that place did come across my mind.

as for matilda house, anyone knows how exactly to get past the field? or is it just a little outfield trekking? any wild dogs etc? saw some the last time round.

I tried searching for matilda's house recently but I am quite sure its gone already with all the HDB developments going on around it.

Tanjong pagar swimming pool is actually called yan kit swimming pool. It's not quite open to the public but quite a nice place to shoot. SAF Golden rules applies. Below is my take on Yan Kit!

I recently heard of a place called Mitre hotel somewhere at Somerset but i am not sure if it's still around. Would definitely want to go there and shoot.

OCH is pretty much "refurbished" now with most of the rubbish cleared, walls repainted and more tightly guarded. The old mood isnt really there anymore for me.

Town Council Report says the opposition wards should be what you are looking for. :bsmilie:

Mitre Hotel is located along Killiney Road. If you know where the BP petrol station is, directly opposite is NTUC. Continue walking down (towards River Valley Rd) and you'll see a small alley. The last I heard some CSer here said that it's closed.

Around 13 years ago there will be a signboard made of thin metal and hand painted "MITRE HOTEL". At night the neon lamp will be lighted so people won't miss it. At that time the dark lane leading towards the hotel is enough to creep me out.

matilda's house is still there. last i heard is some development will be taking place there but the building itself will be conservered.

Be careful that you don't get possessed. Bring some talisman, amulets or holy water.

The name's yan kit swimming pool. Used to go there to train for water polo in the early 90's.

It's still there. Smack right in the middle of the current HDB BTO's project. I'm living in Punggol and i see it everyday
It's fenced up though

This should be the one? Can make out the scribbling 145 Killiney Road. Think I'll pay a visit next month to take a peek.

While we are on the topic, there used to be an abandoned British fort/complex along admiralty road. From memory, the entrance is sorta like three arches. Used to pass by when I was small but seems to have disappeared over the years. Anyone knows the exact spot or what happened to it? Did it got eaten up by the overgrowth or something? Something I've always wanted to know.
