Anyone pay to learn CS4/5??

i did not even pay for the books that i read to learn more about photoshop.
FOC from the national library.
ok comes to PS, i am a total dummy. before i know anything about PS, i only used it for image resizing and cropping as well as auto constrast, auto tone etc.
i did not pay to attend classes... but i did buy a second hand CS4 book (by Scott Kelby, its a good book, full of screen shots, simple sentences which makes understanding easier), i opt not to borrow from library cos i know this book i will keep very long (after all... CS4 is so huge to learn!).
after reading a few chapters, i realised that Adobe Raw and some features from CS 4 formed up Lightroom! :bsmilie:
next book i am getting will be Lightroom 3 by the same author.
I find that using software its tough to do trial and error especially u had no prior knowledge. so a tutorial book will always comes in handy to guide you on the correct path.
Shooting wise, you can do trial and error and learn pretty fast once you have some basic understandings.

I bought the "Classroom in a Book" by Adobe and found that to be quite good. Every chapter has exercises so that you can practice the new concepts being taught.
When/if I ever get the time, I am thinking of subscribing to the online courses offered by a few companies. My niece uses Lynda.com and says that it is very good.
But by far, I've done most of my learning through on-line sites like this one.

Im just like Sinned79...IT Software Zero I'd like to pick up this skill and seriously not sure the way to go.....Saw some classes advertised in here..so just wondering if all's worth it. Mind you, I;'m not thrashin the advertisers, but would like us to share some opinions.

no lar. photoshop can be trial and error. its digital! not like ur mixing chemicals and stuff;p
dun waste the money. u go sign up a class, 1 trainer to 20 ppl. u dun get much attention, and they cover pretty much the bare basics.

i trial n error and end result is rubbish PP-ed photos haha... the only success i got is tweaking with curves.
There are tons of tutorials (youtube videos) in the net. Just google for them. BTW I only learn the workflow I needed from the tutorials and books from the library.

When is a good date? I'm seriously interested to learn. wahahaha..but please be patient with me. I promise I will at least read up! ;p
