Whether or not this is worth buying is entirely up to you. If you do not like the flash, there are other external flashes available that can also be used with the E-P2, I can always tell you that the camera is worth buying, but that is just me, whether or not its worth to you is another story altogether, go down to the shops and have a feel of it, look around for sample images then decide
And by the way, it isn't a DSLR,it doesn't have a prism, good luck with deciding

yes.
e-pl1 has internal flash.
i believe both models have close specs. ( can't tell the diff though )
but the handling and feel is e-p2 has a more robust feel, less the built in flash

All 3 models are pretty much similar in specs, quality wise not too far apart either, main diff is some features and price and built quality as you've said
Actually imo bringing an external flash for a model like the ep-2 kinda beats its purpose. If we need extra accessories for cameras I'd rather go for a DSLR, if I'm into portability then the E-PL1 is the one I'd choose.
It really depends, some people such as myself, use E-P1 which also doens't have built in flash and am happy with it because I seldom use flash when I take my PEN with me, but I carry an FL-36R when I go out at night and till today, I've not have to use my flash when I go out with my PEN even though I carry it with me at night
May I ask? How is bringing an external flash for the PENs without built in flash defeats its purpose? Other than having a small camera to maximize portability? and DSLR may have built in flash, but it is also bigger, so its a situation where "you win some, you lose some" so my advice to the TS is, get with what suits you better
That's basically the main reason why people would choose a ep-2 over a dslr. What I meant was if you want a ep-2, chances are you want your stuff to be light and portable, which is why i'd get a epl-1 instead of the ep-2 in this case. No need for a external flash whatsoever.
well, I suppose he means that the main selling point of the PEN series is small size yet capable. With the addition of the flash, it can become quite cumbersome to handle, as the center of gravity has shifted away from the grip area.
That is one of my reservations about this type of camera, but I really feel that it's "to each his own" Like I said, this type of camera has sold in the millions, so obviously it's a winning formula

does not it mean D3 is not a good DSLR and is not worth buying at all.
I have EP1, and like it. Personally i like EP1 does not come with flash. i like the way it is.
If i need a flash, i would use external flash rather than the built in.
If you dun like FL14, you can always buy FL36R or FL50R with remote trigger.

guys need some advise here. after playing with the cam for a while
i face this difficultly.
how can shoot a fast moving object clearly in low light without flash and not having a blur picture as well?
example, shooting of moving vehicle number plates from the road side?
i tried fast shutter speed, pictures gets dark:dunno:

Not sure what you're trying to shoot, but it'd probably help to learn the basics, and one way to shoot a moving object is to pan, the background will be blurred instead though
