The Big Shot on channel 5 9pm tonight!

One hour format should be better. Everything's hurried and chopped.

Initially, started watching with some excitment but in the end scratching my head, what's the deal?:dunno: Why/How Team B won the team competition? Bit let down by SG reality show.

Agreed. They say they won. But never even show the shot(s) that won it. Makes me wonder if it is best amongst the teams but not good enough for audience.

All in all, the whole show seems very b-grade to me.

couldn't agree more.

did not go through the 4 submitted photos from each group.
did not show and explain the shot that made them the winners.
:thumbsd:

did not mention about the lens that they have won.
seems like a 50mm lens though

is just publicity stunt by nikon..
can't be bothered to watch .. the trailer looks so b-grade man and damn fake the judges' comments.. typical of SG show

lols. typical. CMI.

Saw The Big Shot and saw a couple of familiar faces in the show. The comments made by the two frequently award winners in the show look very interesting. One must understand the requirements in order not to break the rules and the other not limited by the rules to win. Let see who are the winners.

I like one of the rule set for the show. The images are evaluated instantly from the camera without going through post processing. This really test the contestants on their understanding of their knowledge on taking photographs and how to make full use of the camera for their creativity.

The group assignments on the wedding are also interesting. It really reflected how photographers deal with different situations in order to get a good image.

Agreed on the rush for the show. Will be waiting for part 2 to see the evaluation part on the images.

Someone here said that they were all given a D3100, so it's unlikely that it's a 50mm, since it won't AF. Unless they gave them a AF-S 50mm f1.4G, which is unlikely, since if they gave that they would probably have the budget to sponsor a higher end camera.

I think it would be a 35mm f1.8 DX, or some other cheap but good lens

BTW it's not on xinmsn

The host is really sucky.....

Monotonous, no sense of anticipation, and completely has no sense of how to create mood for the show when announcing results.....
Plus there wasn't even background music or sound effects / camera cuts to complement it... When you see results announcement, you can completely yawn during it....

Seems like in terms of Reality Shows, Mediacoop is back to SBC days...... or worse.......

Seriously who edited / produced that show? Some intern?

Exactly what I was thinking. I believe the whole idea behind calling out the contestants in groups, announcing who was safe and who was not (hmm... a familiar technique, eh?), was meant to create suspense, but that fell flat on it's face!
Also, it would have been helpful to review and have the judges explain why the losers didn't meet the mark. I think we expect to see more of the thought process behind the decisions. At least that's what would interest me.
The whole show smells of being done on an inadequate budget.

A reality show flop as usual by media.

They did show the shots on their facebook page..
I didn't get to watch it on Ch5 but I did watch it on youtube.
If it's really 30mins, then it's super sucky..
Reality shows like this should be 1 hour duration..
They really should show the shots on TV and show/tell how they judge the photos.
And what lens they are giving/using too..
They should really make use of the advertising here.. lol! ;)

even though the editing and booting process is kind of rough,
I feel the judges are good.

Did not know which channel it was on and waited in CNA channel, only to find it on Ch5 for the last 5mins of the show. I was glad to miss it though.

Its just a cheap copy of 'The Shot' which to me was very well done. I can't stand the way they had to maximize the ad money for Nikon with the standardized strap and made everyone use a D3100 (or is it a D3000).

Lousy dialog and poor way of eliminating the contestants w/o any details of how/what is not good in their shots.

I certainly won't be watching it any further.

taped the episode to watch cos one of the contestants is an ex-colleague. recognise at least 1 CSer in the show.

interesting idea but bad directing & production from mediacorp... switched off afted 10min.
