Hi all, noob to DSLR.. just bought it on Sunday.

Had read up the guide here but still don't quite understand. Need some help on taking pictures.

Last nite was trying to take picture with a blur background but not sucessful.. any help ??

Hi, Welcome to CS . . . ;)

Believe that you are looking at Bokeh (blur background), pls read up on Aperture mode.
- Wider aperture (the smaller the number will be the widest in your lens)
- Closer to your subject that you are shooting
- you should able to get a 'blur' background (Bokeh)

Hope it helps . . . ;)

Hi hi ~ thanks alot :D this guide I oso read up before I bought my cam :p

but somehow I don't really understand :(

then I would suggest you can try attending some basic photography lessons. You can look for those lessons under workshop, tutorial and classes subforum and here.

If by theory you don't understand, go practical. =p
