While I understand the facts that it is important to spot a terrorist threat, why does he put it that he is satisfied only if 7,200 jam up the police hotline? Also, he didn't state the time of first report? Maybe amongst the first 52 who made the report, the first one already did so within the minute, hence solving the 'issue'.

Could be because he was please that so many people were "aware" of their surroundings. And made the call when they spotted something out of the norm. Inaction will be the worst thing that can happen if this were a real threat.

IIRC, the bomb scare at Times Square was first spotted and reported by a T-Shirt vendor. In this sense, I guess it would be better for more people to call it in.

if a LIMPING man can do it...why can't this edward hidding in CGH do it? why can't the other 3 do it? they need to learn from the master...it can't be that hard. a limping man can escape from tonnes of police,dogs and not to mention warships patrol....now is only a hospital...how hard is it? shld be easier than slashing.

i once reported a car with the word 'intifada' written on its windscreen.

the police officer who answered my call, a malay lady, assumed to be a Muslim,
didn't even know what it means.

maybe its the professional security staff that needs better training,
at least learn to let innocent photographers off.

Once I called the neighborhood police hotline to report of a group of malay teenagers loitering, shouting/screaming, making lot of noise at the void deck since 8pm.
I called at 10.20pm, the officer (woman) told me that it is not 10.30pm yet! So I took down her rank and name and told her I will call back in 10 mins.
BTW, my block happens to be near to the gang fight recently reported in Bt Panjang! :sweat:

A typical Singaporean response would be...

Take out iPhone and snap several photos of the suspicious car in question, upload the photos onto Stomp hours later and question the "bo chup" ignorance attitude of fellow Singaporeans followed by another round of salvo at the incompetency of the Singapore's Home Team departments and statutory board under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
