Somewhere Around You
Hi everyone,

Juz got the EF 24-105 lens during weekend and one thing I note is that the lens comes in a white box ( no logos/printings ) instead of the "official" canon box. I forgot to ask the sales guy although I think it must be from a kit lens package that they give me. Isit " normal" practice ?

I am not familiar with canon. Is there a serial number you can check with canon for authenticity? Maybe the last guy just wanted the body. :dunno:

That is part of the kit lens. Some shop sell it as such to lower the price.

better check if serial number matches that on the warranty card. I think there should be an online facility as well.

Luckily, not a "oem" CHINA made...

Eh ... most lenses OEM made in C, I, T, M etc etc etc

5D MkII - Kit lens.

Canon didn't bother with the fancy printing or slightly thicker box. Only plain thin cardbox box for kit lens.

Lens should be exactly the same/local warranty etc, so no worries.

I always wondered why got box and original packing, unless is a truly rare or collectible lens, can fetch at least $50 more~! :bsmilie:
