As catchlight said, most cats found dead are tame community cats with tipped ears. It is a big difference between chasing a cat that is not accustomed to humans and runs at the sight of you approaching and one that trusts you completely, allowing you to carry it. Except some *******s take it one step further by dropping them off high stories after carrying them.

a lot of serial offenders (of the violent crime variety) tend to start off with animal abuse.
