Depending the size and if it is front page or not.

If it is full page internal, generally about $200-$300 per pic and front cover is about $1k. If it smaller, then will depend on what is the usage.

That is how much I get paid anyway... Thought it is ok but not so much experience on mag.

Hope it helps.

Hart

It depends on the type of shot and the company involved and whether the shot is commissioned or non commissioned.

Basic shots like travel destination shots will pay anywhere from a couple of hundred to 500 bucks or so per shot used.

Frontspiece, back page or cover shots will pay 1-3K depending on the airline and the difficulty of the job. Some specialised covers (50th Anniversary for example) may well pay more. Advertising shots in the magazines pay considerably more, but that is artwork supplied by the advertiser and beyond the scope of this reply.

There's too many variables to give really accurate figures.

Hey Milos, indeed it's been a while, but I'm back again .. glutton for punishment that I am.

Price has gone down. I rarely see such rates unless it's a high-profile magazine like The Peak.

For smaller periodicals actual figures are more like $100-$200 for internals. Doesn't sound like much of a price drop but it's actually 30% less!

Considering it's an inflight magazine I would assume $100-200 also unless it's SIA, Lufthansa, British Airways, basically the 5 star airlines. But AFAIK, SIA doesn't randomly source photos, and I would assume that it would hold true for the other airlines too.

thx for your info...

hahaha... guess it is getting bad in this industry... but anyway, I thought the price was current as that is the price I got paid for for recent work... last 3-6 months that is...

But different mag has different rate and you will just need to see if the price fit your asking price..

This was for an inflight magazine

They said they only pay $30 per photo . I wrote back to tell them it was not enough

One in-flight mag I work for, pays $50 per image. And it's a small Asian airlines.

The budget airlines may pay even less. Some might not pay, but contra with free tix.
