Transiting in Tokyo narita for 10 hrs, any camera shops nearby?

But then again, jpy has appreciated so much against sgd...

I don't know of any camera shops in Narita but 10 hours is enough for you to go to Tokyo, do some shopping, have a meal and go back to the airport.

You can take the Narita Express train (NEX) to Shinjuku. Just next to the Shinjuku station are the Yodobashi and Bic Camera stores. More info on the NEX (tickets, timetable, etc) can be found here:

Exit from the West Exit of Shinjuku station (both stores are there and are quite near each other). Refer to links below for map and more info of the stores. This Yodobashi outlet is the main store of the chain.

Be sure to give yourself enough time to navigate your way through the Shinjuku station. It can be quite a maze if you've never been to such a station before (not to mention huge as well). If you like, you can get a map of the station at the information counter.

Also, buy your return ticket beforehand to ensure that you can get back to the airport in time. I think you should be able to buy it at the airport. If not, buy it when you get to Shinjuku.

Just make sure you don't get lost in the Shinjuku station mess, or you'll end up in Shinjuku East! Hehehehe, unless that's your ultimate destination ;)

Just stay at the airport, try the banana cake and oggle at japanese girls. Time pass pretty quickly.

If I remember correctly, Akihabara has many shops selling electonic goods (camera, laptop, etc ...).
You mentioned you have 10 hours, but from what time to what time?
If you know which shop and where to get your stuff, then will be easier, else will be very challenging. It is quite big there and may lost your way.

yes, shinjuku is really cool for camera shopping, but i'm just worried about the time, and can't afford to miss my flight to US... was actually looking for places nearer to narita airport, i heard about narita city... but not sure if there are any camera shops there.

10am to 10pm...minus custom clearance both ways, i guess it's about 8 hours, from noon to 8pm.... i.e.

I went to the big shopping mall near narita, there is only two very pathetic camera shop.... like your regular neighbourhood fujifilm shop...

10hrs is a really painfully long time for a transit... whew!

LOL you might even make it to Osaka and back on time !!

I think its about S$100 to get to Shinjuku and back to the airport 2 way ...... shop for fun and go around there to shoot for a while or stretch the legs is OK. Any savings might be wiped out by the cost of moving from and back to airport.

enjoy yourself there !
