want to take picture at i-Light Marina Bay.
my purpose is to take my kids (front object) with the lighting object at the background.
does the following setting work?

S-MODE set to 3
auto ISO
rear flash on with -3 setting

THe reason i have to use S-Mode is that my kids cannot hold still for more than 1 second.
Please advise .............

So do you intend to use a tripod?

Which camera and which flash are you using?

Personally I would use M mode with ISO around 800 to 2500 (depending on how bright the background is). Shutter speed around 1/20 (depending on how bright the background is). Aperture around F5.6 to F8. With hotshoe mounted flash gun on i-TTL, direct flash on -1 to -2 FV. Rear curtain sync if possible.

These settings are a starting point for me. I will do some test shots, and adjust according to adjust the exposure of the background.

The other method is to meter the scene without your family in the picture. lock the metered settings down in M mode with fixed ISO. Also make sure your family is not too close to the camera/flash.
