Hi people. I need help here. I can't autofocus my Tokina 28-70 ATX-Pro lens on my Nikon D5000 even though I've switched it to AF mode. Is it just the lens or my cam?

Nikon D5000 don't have an AF motor built into the body, hence need use AF-S lenses for autofocus.
Tokina 28-70 ATX-Pro lens don't have focusing motor in the lens, you can only do manual focusing with your D5k.
