nikon coolpix has improved tremendously since a long time and colour accuracy wise, nikon and canon are the remaining choices i can contemplate. Olympus, Yashica, Pentax have not dished out similar featured compacts. Otherwise these traditional camera makers could also deliver accurate colours and exposures.

tried it out.

- Good build but still a little lacking compared to the G11.
- Nice big screen
- ND filters.
- Good ISO performance.
- Cheaper than the G11

So unless the G12 has something groundbreaking feature, the P7000 should be a good contender at this range.

ND Filters? In-box?

ND filters are in built into the camera itself.

This is really interesting feature. :)

Just wonder how could Nikon able to add a ND filter inside the small camera body ?

Canon PowerShot G12 – key features:

The Vari-angle LCD could well tip the weight in favour of the G12. i think it's nice to have for this type of camera.

I've been waiting to use Nikon compact with Nikon CLS

this time rd nikon really put alot of effort to make a share in this range of camera, the spec look so much better then G12..

any idea of the launch price for P7000??

i have been playing with it, so far i am quite impressed
but i must say that i do not have experience with the G12 or G11, so i am not able to compare

btw it works great with my SB800

The LCD screen on this camera is really good
i hope i don't get disappointed when i view the images on my computer

tried it with the G12, P7000 has laggy response compared to the G12

Hi TMC, care to elaborate in which area the P7000 is laggy in comparison to the G12? Are you referring to AF response? Am seriously considering the P7000 as a compact cam.

Cheers

I would find that the interface is not as user friendly when compared to the G12. It tends to be a bit laggy when I need to switch between menus.
