Hi there,

Super rare to find a fellow Foveon user out here! haha, anyway there are some DP2 users on the DP2 thread too, you might wana check them out.

I hope this thread lures them out tho!

Currently I am using the DP2s with great pleasure, hows the DP1x?

I've been thinking to get my accessories from the John Camera Store on ebay, have you bought from them?

Thought I might ask, since you listed it out too, as I dun shop on ebay often =)

Anyway here's one random photo from my DP2s

Use raw only with Sigma and they will look fantastic, keep low 100-200. When there is strong lighting especially in the afternoon, X3 raw has lots of leeway to reveal shadow area. If you do not want turquoise green, don't use SPP to saturation raw.

I bought some things from John Cam and those were delivered promptly. Yup.

An SD14 user here. :)

Using DP2s and JPG output so far but still grappling with the colours. A different beast from my 5D altogether. Ugh.
Going to try these new settings tomorrow : Sharpness +1, Contrast +1 in Vivid Mode. Then maybe RAW next week.

Hi to all Foveon user. Its good to see so many reply. I am a happy canon user too, but realized that the foveon is really different.

Wonder if there is any local camera shop that sells DP1 accessories?

Below are few of my new shots

Yup. the raw effect is simply diff. Always shoot raw using my dp1s. But the only sad thing is my aperture dun support sigma raw. :(

Hihi... created this thread, as its super rare to find sigma user here. So might as well gather all user :)

My DP1s is great. Take this out more often than my Dslr lately.

Haven tried John b4. BUt seems quite good from the review. :)

Sigma raw and SPP is unique in the ability to reveal dark shadow detail and DR with X3 Fill and highlight control (from clipping). Using other editing tool without the X3 fill and highlight control feature will not be useful and the image will be no different from othe brand of cameras.

My suggestion is to use SPP to do the initial adjustment and tiff to your aperture.

A 15-30mm f3.5-5.6 and a 180mm f3.5 MACRO.

Do you also shoot on the SD14?

I am on Canon with Canon lenses. I am looking at Foveon sensors and would like to try them. But it is unlikely I want to start a collection of Sigma lenses in SA mount. I might be looking at some mount conversions though.

thought of that too. Thanks pal.

I am having lots of fun with the DP2s and really enjoy using SPP4.
This is going well beyond my expectations.

RAWR! My virgin RAW post-processing effort.
Heck, 4 years of using the Canon 5D and JPG, I wonder why I didnt use RAW earlier!
Thank you Sigma!

Nice shots babykailan and saveDqueen,

Yea. the sigma Raw post process is really different.

Like 1 of my previous scenic shot. I just press auto Fx, then i was like wao...

never switch to jpeg in my DP1s again.

Simply love my Foveon... :)

Low light condition

The SD14 is unreliable, slow and has very poor battery life when compared to what the other brands can offer. But I like the SD14 for being very basic, which forces me to understand my equipments and the lighting conditions very well in order to achieve the best I can get from the Foveon sensor. I also like the distinctive Foveon image quality that I have not seen replicated in any other camera brands so far.

I would have sold my D90 in favour of the SD14 if given the choice again.
