cokin vs tian ya

for a picky user,
the difference between a cokin and tian ya filter,
can you really tell the difference?
sure,
some of you may say without reservations, a resounding "YES".
i drink a lot of wine, and i have tested many so called 'sommeliers' with a cheap white wine dyed with red color, stick a false 'high end' label, and many concede it to be a 'good' wine.
is this so with a a western vs a chinese brand?
or
is there truth to the quality produced?
any seniors like to comment?
preferably you have used both and can give a balanced response?

if ur the real shifu, yes u can see the difference.

if u arent, i give u L lens u also think its a cheap kit lens. enuff said.

hence this question.
too many threads on this,
eg hoya vs B+W.
but really, even a real shifu will have to double take if picture is taken with same precision.
question is,
is there anything PP can't do? aside from OOF?
i am a newbie,
lots of questions, no doubt.
because of age,
i tend to read more first.

Yes. can see the difference.

Tianya not all of the GND and NDs are even... some are quite bad. Need to pick one by one, look against the light.

Cokin pretty much all ok.

But do note that both brands will give color cast when stacked, or if you use too heavy an ND during low light.

Cokin's color cast is pink/magenta.
Tianya's color cast is red....

price difference is about 50%, more if i were to buy it from shanghai.
i will try out both just to get to the bottom of it.

No problem... ve yong xia...

When buying in Xing-guang, just make sure you check the filters.. And if you shoot a lot of wide angle, might be wiser to get the single slot wide angle holder as well. As for good or bad filter, just hold up the filter to the light... make sure the dark parts are even... thats all.
