Battery Grip (3rd party) for D300s, good or bad?

hmm... why I keep seeing your name and the D300s battery grip pop up again and again?
If you are afraid it gives you problem, then don't ask your friend to buy 3rd party grip from China loh...
Anyway, if you really want a 3rd party battery grip, the better brand of battery grip in China is called Meike. Or you can get Phottix.
Honestly speaking digress a bit. Is there such a significant price difference between a 3rd party and a original. Frankly, i don't know the prices between the 2. But if you are so worried about issues arising from the 3rd party products, go for the original.

i've used phottix battery grip for my D90 previously and i'm using travor battery grip for my 50D now, so for no issue from both brand of 3rd party grip, but just like all the bro here said and from ur own fear, get the original if u really not comfortable with the 3rd party battery for whatever reason that is, the 2nd hand original one for D300S can get for 180-200++ on BnS section right, compared to S$135 for new third party grip, price wise not so different and i mean come on ur cam is D300s it's on 7D price level not D90 or 50D, a few more dollars won't hurt ur pocket very deep lol

battery? try not to, although some say the use of 3rd party battery(grip) works just find, i rather spend a few hundred dollars more to get original

it works fine. plenty of cheap options available for under $20 if you are referring to shutter remote. Where to buy is your next question? Search Mass Order.
Incase you may ask further about wireless remote, its the same. Just need to make sure its the correct model for D300s.
Seriously, if you can afford a D300s, why skimp on 3rd party items that are electronically connected to your camera like batteries/grips/controls?
Some possible scenarios that MAY happen with 3rd party eqpt that are faulty:
-batteries may explode or catch fire.
-grips can short circuit and possibly fry your mainboard
- remote controls can go haywire as well. I read from an earlier thread about some yong nuo control some days back.
So think again.

I think what all bro here said is not NO to all 3rd party things, it's just that for u to feel comfortable on what u bought and not regret or scared to use it after u bought the stuff, there's no 100% guarantee that an original stuff will not fail and break ur camera in the process either but at least u will feel somewhat safer cos ur addon is "guaranteed" compability with ur camera, so once again as many bros already said, BUY WHAT's COMFORTABLE FOR YOU, either it's from ur wallet point of view or ur preferences point of view
