u shd tell us what are u intending to shoot. =)

What do you have now, and what do you want to shoot? Don't just get a lens for the sake of buying something... unless you're doing your part to keep the economy going. :)

Which to buy first depends on which you need first. Buy only what you need. We can't make that decision for you, seeing how we are not you. ;)

Are you a lens collector?

what i have right now: canon 50mm F1.8 and sigma 18-200mm! I use my gear mostly for indoor or outdoor party(ppl shoot). summtimes landscape shoot too  !! feel that got a limit when using 50mm....... :(

If you think the 50mm is too tight, I recommend you take a look at the 24/1.4L or the Sigma 20/1.4 for a wider prime. For lowlight wide aperture stuff.

For landscape, your 18-200 is good enough. unless you feel it is restricted as well, then look at the Canon 10-22

if its really so hard to decide... then you know you don't need either one terribly...

so i say you can wait, or borrow lens to try what you really want...

or just buy both... seeing that you are ready to spend money..:think:

BBB!!

Deep pocket = Tokina 11-16mm. Good for landscape works, low-light indoors.

Canon lense always the best choice...but the PRICE for 24mm F1.4  !!! hahaha.. Sigma 20mm F1.8 vs Sigma 30mm F1.4 .... which better?!

There are reviews available. Please do some homework and show some efforts. Secondly: please ponder about the reasons for getting such a lens when your 18-200 already covers that range. What do you expect from the prime lens that your current setup cannot deliver? Frankly speaking: to me it sounds like itchy pocket, not a real need.

It's definitely a great lens (canon 50mm F1.8) but over time you'll probably feel it's too tight regarding FOV. At least that's what happened to me...

there u go, u got the answer :) get something wider la. there are many good 3rd party ultrawide zoom lenses in additional to canon's own offering

but you have the 18-200 right?? so can you use that instead of getting a 20mm or 30mm prime???

unless you are looking at primes for general use... then why get a prime for landscapes..
also your 18-200 oso wider than ur 50mm so indoors if really no space then use that lor..

Then get a full frame camera :) .. cheapest way: Canon film SLR.

If you are talking absolutes, neither one is better than the other. They are different focal lengths, different max aperture, and different kind of lenses. They will perform differently if used differently.

One is the sun, one is the moon. So which is better? You tell me. :dunno:
