advice need for wedding shoot?

I have in few question in mind to ask.

First, what things to take note during actual day shoot?
2nd- Any recommand lens for actual day shoot?

Yup, I did.. He asked for recommendations on lens.. There still can be answer even if we don't know what lens he owns right

without knowing his equipment set, how to recommend??? sekali he use medium formatt only....

Right, so you should go ahead and make some recommendations on lenses, without knowing what equipment TS owns now. I would like to see how you do it.

For all you know, he could be using a prosumer superzoom. or a EVIL camera like GF-1 :bsmilie:

yes i think TS's post is too vague for CSers to help.

should have mention the equipment he already owned or if he intend to get new lenses specifically for the wedding.

should also state the venue and the kind of wedding that's going to be held.

"Things to take" can differ from venue to venue... for eg a beach wedding, a garden wedding and a wedding at a church all have different things to take note of

3> dun panic, if in doubt, use a point and shoot olympus pocket camera. DUn forget to bring flash and some batts.

it can be done as simple as a entry level dslr with kit lens, or 1D Mk XXXXXX or D3/4/5/6 with trinity pro lenses, all you need is a camera system that you are most familiar with, no time and also an inappropriate situation for you to try new gears or technique on this day.

best you can find out the day programs and ritual from your wedding couple, and what are their expectation, since you have totally no idea what to begin with.

there are already have many ready info in this forum, all you need to do is do a simple thread title search with the keyword of "wedding", just include the relevant sub forums to narrow down the search results.

there is also this book in our National Library, you can borrow it for some systematic reading if you have the time.

I admire you leh. You go to library just to take a photo to answer TS query. You have my respect for taking the trouble to research the answer. I only hope we can be equally helpful to make CS a better community.

Things to take note:
#1: Talk to the wedding couple. Ask them what would be their programme. Plan ahead using the info you have.
#2: Use a zoom lens, preferably a 18-200mm so that you don't miss your shots.
#3: Make sure you have a proper flash. Fit a diffuser for softer lighting effects.
#4: A tripod would be useful for group shots especially group shots on stage.
#5: A DSLR that you have.

Lastly, do some trial practise at home to see how the setup work for you. :embrass:

Just don't be stressed. You need to know what's in the programme. Keep your eyes and ears open to know the latest happening and take pics of it if you want. And set your camera to suit the environment even before you start shooting.
