SBS bus driver kicks me out and . . .

i had a really bad experience with Bus Service 39 via Yishun to Tampines.

ok this is how it happen.

i took a bus from Yishun ( 1 stop after the bus interchange ) to Pasir Ris West Plaza. so ok.. i boarded the bus , i put in $1 ( oh btw im a student ). and just went to sit. while in the bus , the bus driver suddenly stop at Lentor . Just beside Seletar Reservoir, she stopped the bus, got out of her driver sit , walk towards the back and she was pissed & angry. She straight away come to me , ask me to get out of the bus cause i only paid $1.

I told her and produced my ID , showing that im a student , and she still insist of kicking me out of the bus. I was humiliated infront of commuters and was forced to get out of the bus.
She even ask me to get lost. WTF ?! after humiliating me in front of other commuters and still giving me that attitude as if i own her/SBS money , i was left with 70cents as i didnt have smaller change so she asked me to ask from other commuters if not get out of the bus.

ok , so without further arguing, i left the bus , as i wasn't happy with the attitude she gave me. what the f**k is SBS transit doing ? is this how they train their drivers, promote Kindness with posters all around it ? Bus drivers bully commuters ? i was in the rush this morning to work and she just ask me to get out of the bus.

And the funny thing is , after work i took bus service 39 from Pasir Ris West Plaza, the same place which im suppose to alight from yishun, i paid $1, driver look curiously at the coinbox and i told him im a student and i produce my ID, and there's no problem with taking a bus back.

Seriously, i don't know how the hell SBS recruit their drivers and give one F**K attitude.

Do you still have the ticket stub?
Maybe can try your luck.
Go to the info counter and check with the guy there.
If they confirm with you that the fare is indeed a dollar for students maybe you can lodge a complaint.
Maybe the driver was having a bad day. (but still that doesn't warrant such service)
She's somewhat alright at times whenever I take that bus service.
There was a time when she asked me nicely to give up my seat to an old lady.

Next time you should just refuse to get out. they cant touch you. Just hold the bus back and they will give you a free Taxi ride.

OR

Show them a PRC passport

I feel angry too if I'm in your shoes.

By the way, TS, why not using an ezLink card ?

unfortunately i lost it . but i have the timing of what time i boarded the bus and all. AND dont forget , they think they have no proof ? than whats the CCTV in the bus for ?

she still can threaten me asking me to get out of the bus as she got a CCTV .

seriously if she had a bad day ? my problem that she is having a bad day? why not stay at home and suck thumb? rather than work and show me F**K face and giving me that attitude. Its totally no excuse/reason for her to show me that attitude.:thumbsd::thumbsd:

Take down the bus number, time, date, location, submit ticket stub together with a copy student ID and complain to SBS.

i was late for work. so i didnt have time to top up, instead i use coins.

I don't think you should do that.

oh dear lol.
Maybe she having pms, or maybe you look mature for your age :bsmilie:
Don't bother writing in the SBS at all. It'll probably take years before they decide to address the issue.
Probably best to just write in to the straits times forum asking for an explanation.
Somehow when letters get posted there
it gets the involved parties scrambling about to cover their arses and pin the blame on somebody in an attempt to resolve the issue. :bsmilie:

Show your student pass when you boarded, why wait until you are asked then show it?

I don't think you should do that.

That is probably true but I think one of the main issues now is how the bus captain treated the passenger.
Lets say if for examply domdomino were in the wrong,
It wasn't really polite of the bus captain and it doesn't justify why domdomino should be treated that way.
I don't remember if the rules are still the same as before but I recall being able to pay student fare
in cash if you are able to produce a valid student ezlink card.

even without the discounts, the way he was forced out of the bus with abusive language is a big o no oredi. this can be considered assault can it not? ts, my advice, got use or no use, write in to the media. highlight the problem, and ask for compensation.

True, the driver is quite impolite. However, the matter of fact is, I don't remember the current rules allow us to pay just by showing the student ID. If TS broke the rules, then the bus driver has every right to ask him get off the bus unless he pay correct fare.

Ahem... We are only listening to 1 side of the story...

Lol thats all too true.
But the bus captain was rather lacking in the manners and tact department no?
Thank god she didn't demand me nastily to give up my seat back then :bsmilie:

weird. i only pay 45 cents if i really have no money o.o i always check with them last time. thye always say 45 cents.

now the price higher ar

The driver should have told him there and then that he needs to pay full fare if that's the regulation. The way it happened it was bad handling on the part of the driver, she should be dealt with disciplinary action. TS must report this incident immediately to the operations manager at the interchange.
