flash for basic use. nissin di622 or 480exii?

as the title states. but i would like to know more about what are the major difference between the 2 flashes and recommendations on which should i get. thanks in advance.

Well, the 2 major differences are the brand (canon vs nissin) and the price (i think 300+ vs 100+ ??)

I've seen the Di622's interface, and it's kinda clunky (and very simple-looking). But they claim to have good accuracy with the TTL systems of both Canon and Nikon, comparable to the 430EX and SB600 models.

One major difference I can think of is if you start playing with wireless flash in the future, perhaps by buying a 7D body or another flash like 580EXII...
Di622 is only triggered optically as a slave flash. You have to set the power output manually.
But 430EX has communication with the master flash (580EXII), so you can just leave it in TTL mode and the output should be calculated accordingly.

i see. interesting. thanks for the info. so in this case, which one should i get? using it for family shots etc. you know those basic photo taking shots..

i considered those 2 flash guns before, but instead i went to buy 2x yongnuo YN460 for ab SGD120 in total. although they are full manual flashguns. i often used them both as strobes and trigger them with a radio trigger. IMO, it's good for a start in flash photography.

Depends on your budget, If $ no issue, then, personally, I would get a canon flash rather than the nissin. The usefulness of being able to be controlled by a master flash will be more impt if you decide to try multi flash ETTL

For taking family pictures, and impromptu shots, I think TS need ETTL flash. No time to set up manual flashes and test exposures
