2nd hand tamron 17-50 f2.8 non vc

If you are looking to replace your kit lens, get the tamron 17-50 f2.8 non vc.

If you are looking to compliment your kit lens, get the canon 50 f1.8 for some bokeh fun/half body portrait and sigma apo 70-300 to cover the longer focal length.

Both suggestions will bust your budget by a bit but it still boils down to what you shoot.

I think, for a start, you need to ask yourself what you are lacking from your kit lens that you find the need to replace it.

Is it the focal length?
Is it the aperture?
is it the minimal focus distance?

When you have the answers, then you will know exactly what lens you need.:)

this type of question is like asking "what type of underwear should I purchase?" or "which brand of car should I buy?" :dunno:

Don't replace a kit lens, it is good, live with it~

With ~$500, get a EF 50mm f/1.8 II, that would do. It's very value-for-money and almost everyone started off with it in Canon. It's good, and gives rather crispy Bokeh. Cheers.

so many wat lens to buy to upgrade kit lens questions..

hais.. so many why do you wanna upgrade replies...

if you really must buy something then get the 17-50f2.8 tamron

S$500 in photography is consider not much. Not many choices of lenses that are both below S$500 and better than EF-S 18-55 kit lens. Even if there is, difference is not significant in practical use.
Hence i would advice to save up more for EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 or EF 24-105mmL. Got to save a long time for these? Well, you can use this time to polish up your photograpic skills. :)
