How should we know what DSLR+lens you are using? You need to get a tripod+head combo that can support the max weight of your DSLR+lens. I suggest you do some basic maths first.

~mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm~ still cannot... sorry.

Things to take note of:
1) Max height of tripod (w/o center column extended) when fully deployed
2) Length of tripod when folded
3) Load rating of tripod
4) Load rating of tripod head

* for 3 and 4, different manufacturers have different ways of testing for their rated weight, so it's a bit hard to compare. Best to bring your heaviest setup and test at the shop.

You will only know if a tripod is good enough if you compare it to the equipment you want to load on it.

If you just want to know about the quality.. I will tell you it is great. quality on those freebie tripods are also great. They work don't they?

i suggest, just my opinion.
spent at least $250-$350 on a tripod.

In this range, this is a basic + good enuff for most hobbyist/non-pro photog...
just m opinion again, what is good, define good?
do u need a >$1K tripod which i think is good?
Brands ranges, from Manfrotto, Sirui, Benro and many more.

The best thing you can do is go to the shop and try them.
You will get what i mean when you do this...

Not to say Fotopro is a lousy tripod... but when I see the size of the ball head and then at the size and heft of my DSLR + lens (not even the heaviest), I have a feeling it might not support the weight... Having said that, I'm not saying it won't do for any camera.

If it's PnS type or even the latest RICOH bodies and lenses, I'd think that it is more than suitable, since these cams are not that heavy afterall... Might even work for Samsung's NX-10... or dare I say Sony's NEX-3/5?

Unless one happens to be buying one for his/her high-end PnS or non-DSLR bodies and then wants to test it out against a DSLR's weight, there is no way we can give you an appropriate feedback... When you mention quality - its is pretty ambigious - that's why all the lads here gives you a :dunno: response... Not sure you're refering to the exterior build quality only or are you interested in whether it is able to manage the weight of your DSLR, which is still a :dunno: question mark...

I thought the fotopro should work ok if for small-mid DSLR and not so heavy lens. But for a heavier camera body with heavier lens... I am not sure if the ball head is strong enough.

I've seen the tripods up close when I paid a visit to the store last Sunday. The colours are VERY nice... you know how I like colours... but I'm a bit skeptical when it comes to the ball head size...

Yes, you maybe right, a D3000 ~ D40 with light-weight lenses might work just dandy...

How about the carbon fiber mgc 584N tripod? May I know if someone used this? Any feedback on this tripod? It's using a different head compared with the colored ones. Can't really find any informative reviews on this tripod.

Since Sirui receives much raved reviews why not give it a try? I've never regretted mine!...

The only way one can get a good review is for the manufacturer or distributor to lend a set out to a neutral professional (who knows the ins and outs of a good tripod) and then expect a reasonably accurate review with the bads and goods all in. So far, no reviews...so what gives?

yes im using this tripod for a week ago. 584N carbon fibber tripod. and im using D90 with MBd80 grip 18 to 105mm. i can say its just nice. can hold it! for me stable. for the ball head 2 tight screw adjustment and one for twist the head 360deg. without any loosing of ball holding the camera. one thing i don like if you flip it vertically your camera base cover the twist screw or the tight adjust screw very hard to adjust it.

Good job! There is now some concrete proof of stability based on your image. At least you state that it was not use in the windy conditions. But please continue to test it nevertheless (even during windy conditions), it will help the community! Disperse the doubts of the tripod altogether!

yes i will to help for my own opinion. some alternative solution to keep stable in windy areas is to put counter weight below into the hook to add weight of the tripod. just an idea. hehe..
For the info i bought it in AP Funan. 250. i don't know the price to other store. i don't know cheap or not.
