Hi pardon a videography newbie here.

I have a Canon Legria S11 and after some struggling, managed to download video clips to an external hard disk to free space for SDHC card. I played the video via WD HD Media Player and was frustrated by the gap and stoppage for each video clip as they are not joined. May I know what is the most economical way (assuming I have to download software) to join all these clips so that I can watch all at one go?

The default PC medica player is VLC and some clips appear jerky and not smooth. How do I go about in getting smooth video? I don't think I saw this jerky movements when I watched it on the camcorder.

Have you tried Windows Movie Maker? It's free and user-friendly for simple editing (i.e. transitions). ;)

if you're using mac then just use iMovie... simple hassle free..

don't need to pull hair over this...

Thanks for the prompt replies!

I am not using Mac.

In think I saw Window Movie Maker in my PC program. If I use this does it mean I have to uninstall VLC player software? I tried playing on Window Media Player and it couldn't read file. Only can play on VLC.

you probably set VLC as the default program to open the video.. then open the file sure open in VLC..

the idea is to go to windows movie maker and open the files there...

if cannot then maybe the video format is wrong.. which shouldn't be the case..
