how do u clean your ND filter?

was surprise to see many dust spots on my ND filter even thought it was kept in the box that comes with the ND filter

have tried to clean using micro fibre cloth but only managed to clear away some but still have some stains

first i blow with the blower (which should removes at least 90-95% of the dust) then i will wipe with cloth if needed.

think is the "styrofoam" padding that is attracting dust.

where do u store your filter? is there a way to prevent the dust particles?

With stubborn stains, use lens tissue. Fingerprints or easily removeable using microfibre cloth or the kind they use to clean spectacles. For dust, either blower or the lenspens brush.

I don't advocate any other cloth apart from the microfibre as other material it may cause scratches. My old spectacles has fine scratches due to prolong cleaning with shirt/hanky/t-shirts. Do remember to wash the microfiber cloth too.

Store the filters back to where they belong. If there is dust in the containers, blow it off.

Dust is everywhere. Can't possibly clean out every single bit. A speck or 2 will not appear in the pictures.

You can keep it in a clean room. And never remove it from the clean room. Best if you live in it too. :bsmilie:

There is no recommended mode. You use the mode that best suited to get the result you want.

it means u have over exposed the picture. u need to meter the scene correctly and use the right aperture & shutter speed. u can only do long exposures when the light is not so strong or u are using a ND filter.

White - overexpose, black under expose ... so if over, you cut down exposure, under you lengthen the exposure ....
