Any fellow mac users here? Come in chit chat!~ ;)

i'm using a 13" intel mbp..

hi i'm a mac-er..

been using for the last 4+ years my old white macbook.. thankfully its still running and white..

but thinking of upgrading soon.. the 60GB harddisk n 2GB ram limiting my computer experience sometimes..

and also hard to do alot of photo editing etc...

i'm using a 13" intel mbp..

Have 2 iMac , 3mbp (15" / 17") and a mp at home - largely use for working from home most of the time.

Not a real macfan, though it has nice whistle and stable OS - prefer linux when using on a personal basis :)

I noticed that the display for the 17" is different from the 15" in terms of color and image quality. The 13" and the 15" both shows more saturated colors and higher contrast resulting in loss of detail as compared to the 17" macbook pro. The 17" shows more detail with better balance color saturation.

Anyone noticed this? BTW, its the new I5 and I7 models.

Also know that the 17" has a high resolution screen by default and the 15" has a standard resolution screen. Will the upgrade to high resolution screen for the 15" improve the colors and details?

Was thinking of getting the 15" macbook pro already, but after noticing the difference, now deciding it its more worthwhile to get the 17" instead?

Getting a 17" MBP. Decided to get that after all cause of the bigger screen and better colors.

i kinda regret buying the 13" one.. screen small watch movie no shiok... anyway, no choice liao.. ahhaa

intending to get an iMac next.. but only if it comes with a blu-ray drive...

using macbook pro 15 inch intel i7 and im loving it.... :D :D :D

Is yours the high resolution screen? Dont you find that the 17 inch mbp, the colors and detail look better, not so overly saturated and contrasty as compared to the 15 and 13 inch?

I know what you mean. I moved from a 15.2 inch PowerBook to 13.3 inch MacBook and the display just isn't anywhere near as nice, but it's very glossy and saturated and much brighter when you're looking straight at it.

I'm using the STD 15 inch mbp resolution.. I didn't upgrade it cause I find the top up not really worth it..
I usually connect my mbp to my samsung 26inch full hd monitor for serious editing.. Bought only for 499..
The bigger screen and higher res really make editing more easier..

Anw I'm not surprise if the 17 inch has the higher res option as default..

anyone using aperture 3? how is it compared to PS CS5 which i have on my mac now...

Don't think you can compare Aperture with CS5. A better comparison is with LR3. I use Aperture for simple editing (which is 90% of the time) and the printing and slideshow function is quite neat.

The LR3 is also quite nice. Comparing Aperture and LR3 is like comparing apples and oranges IMHO..... It depends on the user's preference. I chose Aperture is because 1) I'm a Mac boy
2) it's cheaper and 3) LR3 was not launched until recently.

Using the early-2008 white macbook. should have grabbed the black macbook at that time ahaha (that's the last gen for black ones).

upgraded the HDD to 500Gb earlier last year myself and ripped it apart this year to clean the cooling fan and reapplied the thermal paste

i replaced my hdd to a 500gb one on the first day i bought my mbp.. haha!

don't you guys find the mbp heats up damm easily? i had my fan replaced twice from the service center already.. not even 1 year old yet fan spoilt 2 times.. not only the fan, but also the duno what module, which made my mbp unable to shutdown (i.e. when i run shutdown command, it restarts). had to hold the power button to force shutdown!
