Hello everyone,

I am looking for a new tripod because my old one is broken. I'll need some recommendations! Here are the things I am looking for:

  • Lightweight (for travel)
  • Ball Head
  • Quick Release Plate
  • Does not need to be too tall (1.4m high fully extended will do)
  • Below $80

I hope I am not too ambitious? I have seen one attractive Fancier model for $85 and it fits the bill, but I do not know of the quality of Fancier brand tripods. Are they good?

I have also seen another one for $75 - it is presumably a China brand tripod which has an identical logo to Manfrotto (probably a copy) and a similar name (can't recall).. :dunno:

What do you think?

Thanks everyone! :)

Wow, you ain't asking for much don't you?

Since you have already stated budget, then I think you should look at Fancier and WeiFeng. Anything else maybe over budget.

Do you have any recommendations for shops where I can browse? How do I know the shops are not overcharging me? Thanks!

For your budget,i think only Fancier fits the bill:)

I recalled that the brand is Manbily with tripods such as this:

Any advice for or against Fancier or Manbily?

Thanks!

One thing I know about Fancier ... it's last legs are all spindly thin, and depending on your equipment you wish to support, I would think twice about wanting to sacrifice my gear on a < $100 tripod.

But maybe you can try visiting K-13, Cathay Photo, Oriental Photo, TK Photo, etc.

HTH.
