Hi All,

Something different and would like to introduce latest acquire which took me so long to think and decide about the purchase as it cost too much.

Made calculation and upon consultation and agreement with my wife; I decided to get this wonderful piece of workhorse.

Monstrous Megapixel Full frame coupled with UWA lens, a wonderful combination I would say.

Tested couple of shots which can be seen on couple of latest uploads from different thread, I would say, am very satisfied with the performance with the SOOC images.

Here a small portrait for the purchase and am sucks with still life subject. :bsmilie:

A very supporting wife indeed! ;)
Appropriate gear for the appropriate man.
And you are rocketing away to planet Nirvana, leaving behind smoke trails man!
Congrats on your new toy Thomas

The last time I bought my 5DmkII, I also consulted my wife..She gave the nod then I buy.. ;p

Congrats on your new gear and have fun with it!

Congrats on the new gear!

Wah bro, upgrade quitely sia..~!! Gd for u bro~!!! :)

Its abt time.. Landscape mus go Fullframe~!!

But Bro, to help u improve.. here giving u some serious pointers..

1. U need to control ur lighting (its quite harsh and evident in most of them) , either by diffusing ur lights more (looks like continous lighting) or toning down ur strobes power.

2.Dof is inadequate for pic 1 and 3 (if making reference to this kinda layout). Hyperfocal distancing and stopping down to f8-f11 might get everything in focus and acceptable sharpness.

E.g. the one i took yesterday, color abt off though..haha (new toy also~!)

Settings : ISO800, f8, 10s on tripod, hyperfocal distance, shot in lighttent with one flash bounced inwards

3. Pic 2 is a little weird as we human eyes are not accustomed to seeing blurred things in the foreground as compared to those in the background.. So perhaps another kinda framing to showcase the "5D"?

Nonetheless its a very gd attempt~!! And congrats once again in ur new purchase!!! FF rocksz~! :)

Thank you for the wishes too. And this product thingy is not my type and I sucks in it which I have to admit it.

Am using 50mm prime and most of the time I have it wide open as I want to emphasize only at certain area; as in, the 5D logo, 17-40mm and lighting is handheld using off cord.

Nonetheless, thank you very much for the pointer and will take it down in case I want to do another still life work...:)

Well, Cropped body also can be use for landscape with dedicated lens. Am seeing many good landscape photographers without FF also can produce wonder. eg: WK's work. Like said, the person behind the viewfinder is more important than the camera.

The upgrade just a lust and temptation which I can resist; that is why I had made a long decision to get it eventually with a big hole in the pocket...:bsmilie:

Hey soulFLY, congrats on your new purchase!

Enjoy shooting more with your new camera!

I agree with the point on the lighting. Its in fact very harsh. Have you tried bouncing it off somewhere else instead?
