I am pleasantly surprised that Hoya surpasses B & W in the tests, I have been using Hoya filters since the 70s with my Nikon FM, still using them now. Thanks for this cheerful news.

I am not sure if I am reading the review correctly, but from what I can see, the b+w is still worth its money over the normal hmc hoya. The mrc b+w has equal, if not better flare resistant over the hoya, transmit more visible light than the hoya and is a easier to clean.

The only issues with the b+w is the much higher amount of uv light transmission(which is weird considering that it is a uv filter..) and of course, price. Yet, considering our typical usage of the uv filter as a front element protection on dslr and the much lower price of the xs-pro on mass sales, those cons might not really affect us too much.

Not all Hoyas are golden. Some cheaper Hoya filters are dogs too.

Some Hoyas are better, some B+Ws are better...

yup correct,
but all depends on the users, how good & how they appreciate each filters they used.
