Discussion for August 2010 Outing

August is just 2 weeks away. Please post here your suggestion on the date, theme and location of shoot for the month of August.

Off hand i can think of the following:-

Little India - street photography
AMK park - macro & close up
KTM train station & Tanjong Pagar - architecture

date: all saturdays, 14, 21 or 28 august

time: 830 to noon (can OT if like)

I suggest Pulau Ubin / Changi Beach because one can shoot nice sunset thereafter.
But some may think it's too far. :dunno:

It's far for me consider woodlands -----> changi .. ha . But I don't mind

AMK Park is my preference on the mainland, centrally located and can shoot insects!!! :thumbsup:

for your info
KTM train station can only take the building but not the railway...
they have 2 platform there, one is use for train so need to buy tickets to go in...
the other one(just opps) have covent to a coffee shop so can just walk in...
but will get stopped if taking photo from the coffee shop because there are small counters on the opps platform which "act as" Malaysia custom...

Kena delete photo 2 weeks ago....

don't know why they are so worry about it... anyway that "acting Malaysia custom" don't even stamp my passport if i take the train...

KTM is definitely out.Brought a group there in one of my outings before(20 people),split into 2 groups somemore...kena chased out by police;(

Anywhere is fine by me, but must be after 14th since had to cover for a friend whom gg to vietnam.

Always wanted to join the monthly outing but I teach watercolour art on Saturday afternoon... I sweat easily, don't want my students to have a smelly instructor... hahaha:sweatsm:

If it's anywhere near East side, I can probably drop by for a few hours, rush home for a quick shower then proceed to the art studio

1. National Day or one of its related parades/celebrations in the grassroots?
Now red shirts massing in National day would be good, wouldn't it?
Bring the brand to the masses as well.

2. Sports and Action - YOG
One of the YOG events.
Pentax can also do action.
Let everyone open up their scope beyond non-moving stuff


3. Portraits and Poses
Everyone takes turns. Learn about simple setups and equipment.
Model is also possible if everyone agrees to pay or can get TFCD ones.
Learn text book style. Copy the few styles and techniques from website or portrait photography book and setup/learn those as the topic of the day.

The last sharing session was a great success .

Maybe pinholecam you can educate us more about strobing ? which I believe many of us are very interested to learn basic strobing .
