Are these backgrounds photoshopped?

I keep seeing this type of background used extensively for quite some time now, compared ot the usually black and white background.

Are these backgrounds used in these macro shots filled with either lightroom, elements or CS5?

can photoshop the reflection is really something...haha..
my opinion: not photoshopped...coz it's not tht hard to find a marble table/even home tiles etc to do the job...

So i assume its a card board background similar to those that i am using, but I haven't seen any of these designs at Artfriend.

Don't think it is a cardboard material. It must be some smooth surface or reflective surface material to get the reflections. Also the angle of lightings and the camera to make the effect better.

I believe this is laminate sheet, which use for covering furniture surface, usually we call it Formica, but there are a lot of other brands

the come in 4ft by 8ft, plain color start from $30, texture or pattern will double or triple the price. there is this company call Evershine is selling it, but I can't recall where are they locate now.

professional photographers has been using this for table top product shots many years.

and i agree with this. the reflection is authentic i think, cause u can see underside of the models reflected. u cannot photoshop the undersides one.

you can get this sheets at one of the shops in Ubi Ave 3, opposite Traffic Police, along the lanes of the famous Johnson Sticker..

oh yea. careful of hot objects on formica. i think they will burn and have those burn marks. not like real marble and stuff. last time altar table use formica. end up the joss stick drop till so many holes. replaced with a full slab of granite.

The cheap and easy way to do is to get a normal piece of transparency!

But yeah due to its size it's of course only applicable to figurines/toys.

I think this material is "Linoleum", a flexible synthetic flooring sheet used commonly in toilets and bathrooms overseas.
