Hey bros, I'm a newbie wanting to seek opinions on which cpl filter should i get for my d90.

I have a beautiful sky/ sea view from my window and I prefer taking landscape shots so somehow I want to get one cpl myself. I am using the 18-105kit lens so what kind of cpl filter should a newbie like myself get? One thing to note is my budget isn't really that much, but I would still like to hear opinions before making decisions!

Btw, how will this filter fare?

Or will bros recommend me some hoya ones?

Get the Hoya filter that fits your lens thread. I'm not sure what your difficulty is...?

Oh sorry, because i don't know which ones are better so i guessed bros can teach me a little about cpl (read it somewhere like some cpl have different effects over other brands or something...)

Hoya is a good, reliable brand. Get a slim one.

I would recommend Hoya if you are under budget.:)

Anything but overpriced VitaCON I guess?

Hmmm but the price for the hoya hmc xs is pretty pricey too don't you think? I think it's like 100+?

1. If your sea view is North/South facing, you're in luck. CPL works best at right-angle to sun.

2. It can be a little tricky using a CPL on lenses which rotates on focus.

3. HOYA CPL are resonably priced.

It's quite reasonable also considering the performance. Unless the price is artificially inflated there is always a relation between price and quality. Have a look at this review: Polarizing Filter Test and compare with the price guide. Note that not all recent filters are included in the test.
There is a reason why Vitacon, Steinzeiser and all the other funky brands are not listed there: they are not available on a global scale and those who got them here in SG as "freebie" have a lot to tell about them, so far not much good :bsmilie: If you like to try there are plenty of them in BnS.
