Hi,

I tried to search for 'Strap' and the search engine didn't return many good results other than buy-and-sell related posts.

Can someone recommend a good, comfortable, strap to replace the one that comes with the DSLR?

I am looking for a strap that can 'support' 5dm2 with 70-200m2 comfortably.

Can you also advise on which shop sells it and roughly how much it is?

Thanks.

If you have the budget, I would recommend the blackrapid strap which cost around $85. Crumpler around $25 or OPTECH which is quite good and comfortable.

I use the Blackrapid because is easier to remove and put back on.

There is a forummer (Calvinklein) who mass sell a cheaper strap that seems to be based on the blackrapid. He's doing his mass sale on the forum. You can check it out. It's less than 50% the price of a real blackrapid.

blackrapid....comfortable, easy and secure...

Thanks. Was checking the blackrapid website, the products look interesting.

BTW, one more question: which shop in SG is carrying this brand?

I like the Op/Tech Pro Loop, allows me to remove the neoprene section, and convert it into a handstrap.

Cheers!

Or you can get the Q-strap which is a China rip off version of the Blackrapid R-strap. If you can find it of course.

Bought the Op-tech Pro Loop Strap on recommendations by dingaroo and the others, loving it! Can't imagine how I stuck to the original canon strap - which by the way, cuts into your shoulders and neck!

Having said that though, if i had the budget I'd definitely wanna give the blackrapid strap a go. The strap still gets in the way of portrait/vertical shots and also when using tripod in that orientation! $85 bucks! Can't justify that yet so that must wait...perhaps a Christmas gift would be excellent :lovegrin:

Ya. For some of us, we never even bother to open the packaging of the original straps. Plus, I never like to let people know what camera I use. Don't need to do free advertising for the camera companies.

artworkfoto has it...

That is cool. But watch out for the L connector plate and the hook. It looks as if it can come off accidentally. Better DIY a safe guard if you are really using the strap. Even some of us ,original R-strap users, do it.

If you get the first version, the one with no pockets, I got it for 60+ at CP. And yes, it comes with the new connector and fastener.

Bro, wait till you see the Q-strap double strap. Looks almost exactly the same. 200+ rmb only...

But hor, the connector and fastener are not as secure. Must DIY a bit to make it secure.
