is there any significant difference if just compare these 2 features?

somehow i never used AF-C at all. I'm always at AF-S and wait for my beep to come on.

I've come to find out the AF-C is never as fast in focusing. I"m also used to half-pressing the shutter several times in order to get the right focus before the full-shutter down.

i use AF-C most of the time.
so far still ok for me.
i believe the body n the type of lens u use makes a diff.

There apparently IS a difference despite what nikon says...

There was a dpreview thread that incl measurements of AF speed, i cant find the thread now darn... but the conclusion was D3 > D700 > D300 as far as AF speed was concerned. They were using AF-S in the test; but im sure this would be significant in AF-C as well

Interesting. So other than the FX/DX sensor size difference, the capabilities are exactly the same.

D3 has a better brain, I read its more responsive than D300. However I seen lots of sports photographer using D300 and the 's' club.

For more info, watch the digitutor is better, I read manuals couldn't totally grasp their explanation.

D300 Digitutor
D3 Digitutor

or maybe the motor is more powerful

DX for sports is very practical since it gives you more apparent reach on the tele side

For the Professionals, shooting at low light and high ISO performance would be best equipments for them. They ain't so keen to own more DX body than FX.

Yes, I am quite sure that D3 is definitely faster on AF-C mode. While it could be subjective in all accounts, I had the liberty to test on my kiddos running around in my home garden while doing candid shots of them using D3s and D700. The D3s subject tracking glue-ed on the kids movements like an eagle eye. The D700 may loose track on some occassion. That is just a personal opinion and that was how it felt when using the different bodies.
