posting of cats pics.

It's been a long time since i done the following thing above...i was wondering if i post the pics that i took of cats, would my thread last? :sweat:

Not that it matters that i am using another camera that is a non-DSLR class...but seeing many good pics taken with a DSLR, i feel kind of behind...:cry:

what do you mean by "last"

you are welcomed to post your cat pix in the respective gallery forum
it does not matter what equipment was used to take the picture

Will last lah, there are a few ppls having their "cats thread" in CS's nature section.

If you are not comfortable, start a APAD thread and post it there.

DSLR have the advantage of shallower DOF due to the sensor size. But not all photo need shallow DOF. I been shooting cats using aperture from f/1.2 to f/8.

I have shot cats with 4 megapixels compact cameras and I like the results; I will continue to shoot in future as well. I don't think they are inferior to those taken with a Dslr.

It depends on how you look at the image; Of course, if you want to compare the image quality in terms of enlargement for printing, Dslr is better. But for displaying in smaller sizes on the monitor display, I don't find much difference.

Photography is more than image quality.

What's wrong with feeling behind? At least it can give u the motivation to learn more to self improve.

Yup, it is so true.

Attended a talk last saturday, and make all my photo look like trash.....but it motivate me that there are so much more room to improve.

But one should never feel behind because of his/her equipment.

I think i have fallen into the catageory of 'sunday photographer' since i only take my camera out on sundays... :bsmilie:

Singapore cats are a highly harassed lot.

Too many photographers chasing too few cats.

I think everyone should get their own cats to shoot and leave the street cats alone: :bsmilie:

I got my own cat to shoot & I don't have to chase this cat. Totally not harrased at all. All you have to do is just buy them a drink :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

It is harder to take photo using DSLR because cats run away when they see a huge camera facing them.

I shot this photo using a Fuji Film Z30 ( a compact small camera that is less threatening )

None of my friend can get close enough to use their DSLR to take this shot.

and there are all taken using mid-tele macro lenses with FX sensor.
