Most probably a 35mm. According to Nikon Rumours, 85mm supposed to come with VR. No indication of VR on the image.:)

Either 35mm or 85mm - its all good news! :D

I wish for VR too.. but i doubt there will be VR on the new 85mm :dunno:

Great news!

Looks like another wide prime :)

Looks like 35mm/1.4G

If it is a 85mm f/1.4 G it would finally bring the price of the AF-D version down (let alone the price of the 85mm f/1.8)! If it is a 35mm f/1.4 G, ah well.. that one got to buy new.. the 35mm f/1.4 AIS needed a replacement long long long ago.. finally! If it is the rumored 50mm f/1.2, well, show and tell, not before the lens is tested at 1.2 by the early adopters to see whether AF really works.. if it is anything like the Canon one I think I will give it a miss..

Then again, one should give a year for the new lenses to be tested by the early adopters and point out if there are any flaws :)

wow.. 35mm f1.4 with Gold ring sure cost above $1k
 which nikon gold ring lens doesn't cost above $1k

its high time they launched their 35mm f/1.4 AF version! :D

Do note that the focusing chart there shows 0.85m...which is coincidentally the MFD of the AF-D 85mm f1.4 :)

if it is indeed a 35 1.4, i hope the price is around the afs 50 1.4G that be nice.

if it is the 85 1.4 than shld be above 2k...

the wait is on...

I doubt that 35mm will be priced around the same range as the 50G since there's nano crystal coating on this one...and the gold ring

Yup... thats a 85mm MFD.. :)
35mm focus much closer than that.
