Hi,

My Sony 3.5-5.6/18-70 len died so I'm thinking of getting a replacement. What should i buy? I'll probably want to try len from other brands.

Can I get Tamron Macro 90mm as a replacement?

What do you mainly shoot?

Landscapes:11-18/18-55
Macro:90/100
Birding:55-250/300
Street:24-70/50-135
All-in-one:18-250

Wah your response so fast...thanks for the information. I do mainly indoor shooting on Macro mode but i feel the len is not good at capturing the bearings, small parts and my dog. I only use it for lanscapes while travelling to overseas.

One question, the Tamron 90mm does it mean 0 to 90mm?

Where got 0mm one?

Tamron 90mm means 90mm only.Its a prime lens...

Haha...pardon my ignorance. I've little knowledge about lens. I will probably get the same one then.

The 18-70 is a little old already.Get the newer 18-55:)

just get 16-105 .. its allinone and better than 18250

Agreed with Maxwell207 on the Sony 16105 mm. A superb all rounder. Alternatively, you can try the Tamron 28-75 mm lens. It's a good walkabout lens and highly recommended for portraiture. I have it on my A350 and seldom take it off.

hmm..isn't 18-250 better than 16-105? Why is 16-105 better? lighter?

wah! I saw your shots...nice

I dunno...kinda confused...I want to take macro shots too.
